These little creatures got to run free ...
An interesting find at a 'harvest festival' - a cello orchestra! I think the lady at the back right, who looks like there's a pole growing out of her hat, is Amy LeBlanc of Whitehill Farm in East Wilton. I think she's the orchestra's leader. She grows the most fantastic heirloom vegetables & has had a lot of blue ribbons at the fair (see next photos). Prize peppers. Not the best photos, but a visual feast nonetheless. Not sure how that apple got in there ...More autumn color. This is burning bush, a member of the Euonymous genus. Widely considered an invasive alien, as it spreads readily and is almost impossible to get rid of. Great autumn color though.
Here's a close-up. I love the way the light comes through the leaves
Winterberry. A member of the Ilex genus, (holly), but it loses its leaves in the fall. Great winter color against the snow.
Blueberries have great autumn color too.
